JK only gave us one clue: The happiest people dont become ghosts. Moaning Myrtle was made fun of, Nearly Headless Nick didnt have his whole head chopped off, the Bloody Baron, well, he's covered in Blood stains so sumthing had to happen, and maybe the Fat Friar was ridiculed for his weight. I feel smart ;D.....

also, the grey lady (the ravenclaw ghost) that doesn't seem to be a very happy name, maybe you have to depressed to become a ghost

In England some where there is a castle that is said to be haunted by the Grey Lady. They say that her husband left her adn every night she walks in through the corridors waiting for her husband. I think thats how the story went.
